Easy Spicy Shrimp Mozambique Recipe | It is a family favorite throughout the Pacheco home. A regular Portuguese meal made using garlic, beer, butter, seafood. What else can you may well ask for? Ok, & EASY! I favor mine spicy, but cook yours to taste. This can be great as a main dish, or maybe appetizer.

Mozambique is a country in southeastern Africa, which became independent from Portugal in 1975. This dish was affected by the Portuguese spices brought over by settlers. Portuguese travelers brought the recipe over when they provided their way towards US, and wonderful . well-accepted throughout New England. This is how I cause it to at home.

He was Portuguese so soccer was a student in his blood and the other his entire family loved.

Now, as grown-up I still enjoy soccer, but I not really know I could be as big of a fan of the activity as dad was. Sadly he kicked the bucket prematurily . but every time I watch/hear a casino game, I do believe of my father.

Like other men, dad always loved a “cold one” as he’d refer to beer. My spouse Jared also loves his beer and appears to enjoying several while in the weekends. Modelo Especial and Modelo Negra are two brands he enjoys as they are flavorful, and priced perfectly. You’ll find Modelo Beer wherever beer, wine, and spirits are sold.


  • 2 lbs frozen cooked large shrimp
  • 3⁄4 cup white wine
  • 1⁄2 cup butter
  • 4 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3⁄4 cup hot sauce (do not use Tabasco)
  • 2 (8 ounce) envelopes saffron (I use goya sazon with azafran)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil



This is best served with rice, french fries, or even mashed potatoes.
